Where Growing Point’s
vision comes
to life.

Since 2015, this once-retired bowling green in Point Chevalier has been transformed into a thriving community māra, growing food, knowledge, and connection.

Guided by Hua Parakore principles, mātauranga Māori, regenerative growing practices, and the science of the Soil Food Web, the garden is both a productive food-growing space and a living classroom.

Whether you’re interested in volunteering, attending a workshop, exploring our soil laboratory, or simply experiencing a thriving community garden, Dignan St offers a place to learn, contribute, and connect with the land and each other.

● Soil Education

A living soil is a healthy soil

At Growing Point we take a biology-first approach: when we grow life in the soil, the soil in turn grows nutrient-dense kai, resilient ecosystems, and thriving communities.

Whether you’re a backyard gardener, a school kai leader, or a seasoned grower, our workshops show how composting, soil care, and microbial partnerships can transform the way you grow and eat.
