Te Taonga o Ngā Kūmara

Growing Point is proud to present Te Taonga o Ngā Kūmara, a beautifully crafted A5 book by Matua Rob Small documenting the ongoing preservation of Aotearoa's treasured heritage kūmara.

Created as part of the kūmara collection project led in partnership with Te Pourewa and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, the book features all 16 pre-colonial kūmara varieties currently held within the collection. Across 100 full colour pages, it traces whakapapa stretching back more than 800 years, bringing together detailed photography, mātauranga, growing guidance, tasting notes, and the stories that make these kūmara such an important taonga.

We are sold out of all physical copies but are taking expressions of interest for a second print run and digital copies.

About
the book
